Concentration

In order to lead you must be focused. You must be able to set your attention to something long enough to get results. In a world filled with distractions it’s easy to bounce from one thing to the next only to realize that in the end you never accomplishing anything significant.

That means having the discipline to shut down all the tabs on your computer. To shut the door to the office. To shut your phone for an hour. To start saying NO to useless shit coming your way. To set bounderies for yourself. You need to say NO to anything that is pulling you away from the tasks needed to achieving your vision.

Prioritization

Where focus goes, energy flows. You’ll never be a successful leader if you don’t know what needs to be tackled right now. There are so many things to do and so many demands on your time that if you can’t prioritize you’ll get swayed in every direction. You have to have the awareness to know where your energy is best placed. In order to know that you need to have a clear picture of your vision and goals. You need to align the future with the present and delegate what isn’t serving your goals.

Organization

Freedom follows structure. If you’re just going with the flow, unstructured in your day to day tasks — you’re leaving so much money and wasted time on the table. Everything should be organized. The more you take control of all systems, the more you are keeping a hold on tracking everything the more you have the ability to see what’s actually going on. This means you can course correct. If you’re not assessing, you’re guessing. Take control of yourself and your business.

Innovation

Innovation is asking the question “what’s missing here?” it’s about finding solutions to problems. It’s about thinking outside the box and finding creative and efficient ways of doing things. If you’re simply putting out fires all the time and never innovating you’ll end up putting out the same old fire day after day, bitching and wasting your time. Get innovative, create something different.

Communication

If you have a fear of difficult conversation. If you can’t get your point across. If you can’t tell your story in a way that inspires others than you’ll never be a great leader. Communication lies at the heart of great leadership. You need to be able to speak your vision. Practice with everyone, role play, improve your communication skills at all cost. It will serve you in so many ways.

I have a leadership empowerment course coming up soon. Stay tuned for more info.
